Larry Elder bows out of GOP presidential primary race, endorses Trump

Conservative talk radio host Larry Elder has decided not to run for president in 2024. Instead, he's supporting former president Donald Trump. Larry Elder had tried to become the governor of California in 2021 but didn't succeed. He made this choice after thinking about it a lot and talking to his team.

He believes Trump did a great job leading the country and wants everyone to support him to defeat President Joe Biden. Larry Elder also hopes that his campaign brought attention to important issues, like the need for fathers, fighting crime, and the idea that the U.S. isn't a racist country.

Larry Elder is the fourth big-name candidate to stop running for the 2024 Republican nomination. He joins others like Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, former Texas congressman Will Hurd, and businessman Perry Johnson. Johnson is also supporting Trump, while Hurd is endorsing former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Larry Elder started his campaign in April, saying that America doesn't have to keep getting worse, but it needs the right leader. He announced this on a platform similar to Twitter. However, he didn't get much attention in a race where Trump and other famous Republicans like Nikki Haley,

Mike Pence, Ron DeSantis, Tim Scott, and Vivek Ramaswamy were also running. He wasn't part of the Republican debates because he didn't meet their requirements for polling and donations. Larry Elder complained to the Federal Election Commission, saying that the debate rules weren't fair to all candidates.

Larry Elder ran for public office for the first time in 2021, hoping to replace California's governor. Although he got the most votes among the people running, most voters chose to keep the current governor, so his votes didn't matter. Some Democrats think that Larry Elder helped the Democratic governor by giving voters a reason to reject the recall effort. The governor criticized Elder for supporting Trump and having conservative beliefs.

Larry Elder thinks that his experience running for office and getting millions of votes show that he has a message that matters to voters. He's a lawyer who grew up in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles but went to a prestigious college and law school. He's well-known among conservatives through his radio shows and has often appeared on Fox News and other right-leaning media.

Larry Elder, who is Black, has criticized things like the "woke" agenda, Black Lives Matter, and the idea of systemic racism. These views have caused disagreements with many other Black people.
