"I Became President Because...": What Donald Trump Said In New York Fraud Trial

Donald Trump had a tough day in court on Monday. He argued with the judge during his testimony in a civil fraud case in New York. The case could seriously impact his real estate business.

The judge, Arthur Engoron, reminded Trump that it wasn't a political event and asked him to keep his answers short. He even told one of Trump's lawyers to control him.

This is a historic case because Trump is the first former US president in over a century to testify in court as a defendant. He, along with his sons and other executives, is accused of inflating the value of their real estate assets to get better loans and insurance terms.

Trump, who is 77 years old, wore a dark blue suit and tie with an American flag on his lapel. He complained that the trial was "very unfair" and a "crazy trial" brought by Democrats.

During his testimony, Trump denied the fraud allegations and said the financial documents weren't crucial to the banks. He also argued that the value of the "Trump brand" wasn't considered in the evaluations of his real estate.

Before testifying, Trump spoke to reporters and called the case "election interference." He criticized it as something that usually happens in third-world countries.

The New York attorney general, Letitia James, accused Trump of consistently inflating the value of his assets. She emphasized that numbers are what matter, and they don't lie.

Trump's sons, Don Jr. and Eric, testified before him and blamed accountants for any mistakes in the financial statements.

Trump and his sons won't go to jail, but they could face up to $250 million in penalties and may be removed from managing the family company.

This trial is just one of several legal battles Trump is facing as he aims to return to the presidency. In March, he faces charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election results. We kindly request you to disseminate this news and provide your insights in the comments section. Thank you
