Gaza Hospital Strike: Joe Biden ‘outraged’ by Gaza hospital blast killing 500; Israel, Hamas trade charges

The Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza experienced a big explosion. The health ministry run by Hamas said about 500 people lost their lives. But the Israeli authorities strongly deny any involvement.

When President Joe Biden of the United States heard about the hospital explosion in Gaza City, he felt really sad and concerned. He told his national security team to find out more about what happened.

President Biden said, "I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the explosion at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, and the tragic loss of life that followed."

After that, he talked with King Abdullah II of Jordan and Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel. He wanted to get more information about the incident.

Both Israeli and Palestinian officials blame each other for the explosion. It's the deadliest event in Gaza recently. Gaza officials say Israeli airstrikes caused it. But Israel says a rocket attack by Palestinians caused a big blast.

The Israeli military thinks a Palestinian rocket attack near the hospital happened at the same time as the explosion. They say the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group did it. But Islamic Jihad says their rockets didn't cause the hospital blast because they weren't active in Gaza City at that time.

This explosion happened right before the planned visit of the U.S. President to Israel. He wanted to show support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas. President Biden also wanted to know how Israel would protect civilians during the fighting.

President Biden said, "The United States is very committed to protecting civilians during wars, and we are sad about the patients, medical workers, and innocent people affected by this tragedy."

At first, a Gaza civil defense leader said about 300 people died in the hospital explosion. But a health ministry official later said it was around 500.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, a representative of the Israeli military, had doubts about the reported number of casualties. He said there was no direct hit on the hospital, and a drone video showed a possible impact in the parking lot. He also mentioned that the Israeli air force was near the hospital during the incident, but the ammunition they used didn't match what was seen in the hospital footage. Hagari said, "We're not sure about the exact number of people affected, as we haven't confirmed it yet." We kindly request you to disseminate this news and provide your insights in the comments section.
