Donald Trump promises to revive Muslim ban, gets slammed by White House
Former U.S. President Donald Trump says he wants to bring back a rule that stops people from certain Muslim-majority countries from coming to the U.S. if he becomes president again.
He talked about this at a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition. He mentioned the travel ban, which was put in place during his time as president. He said it was successful because it kept out people who might want to harm the country.
During his presidency in 2017, he made it hard for people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, and initially Iraq and Sudan to come to the U.S.
The White House, where President Joe Biden is now, criticized Trump for this. They said it was un-American and made things worse.
Trump also promised to support Israel in its fight against a group called Hamas, protect the U.S. and Israel from terrorists, and change the way the Biden administration deals with Iran.
He also talked about keeping America safe during his time as president and said that if he was in charge now, certain events, like attacks on Israel, might not have happened. He mentioned taking action against a top Iranian military leader and putting sanctions on Iran to stop them from supporting terrorism.
