Joe Biden trails Donald Trump in states likely to decide 2024 US election, polls show

On November 5th, polls were released showing that Joe Biden, the Democratic President, is behind Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate, in five out of six crucial states a year before the U.S. election. Many Americans have concerns about Biden's age and are not happy with how he is managing the economy.

These polls were done by the New York Times and Siena College. Trump is currently ahead in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, while Biden is leading in Wisconsin. It's worth noting that in the 2020 election, Biden had won in all six of these states. According to these polls, Trump now has an average lead of 48% to 44% in these six states.

Although national polls have consistently shown Biden and Trump in a close race, the final outcome in presidential elections usually depends on a few crucial swing states.

Biden had won in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, all of which Trump had carried in 2016. To secure re-election, Biden would likely need to win these states again.

It's important to remember that predictions made more than a year before an election can change over time. A statement from Biden's campaign spokesperson, Kevin Munoz, mentioned that even Gallup had predicted a significant loss for President Obama a year before he won comfortably in 2012.

Munoz also emphasized that Biden's campaign is working hard to reach and mobilize a diverse group of voters. They believe their winning agenda is more popular than the "Make America Great Again" platform of the Republican Party. Their focus is on putting in the effort, rather than worrying about poll numbers.

The polls also suggest that Biden's coalition of supporters, which includes people of different races and generations, may not be as united as before. Young voters only slightly favor Biden, and his lead among Hispanic voters is shrinking. Additionally, in urban areas, Biden's advantage is only half of Trump's lead in rural regions.

Surprisingly, black voters, who have traditionally supported Democratic candidates, are now showing 22 percent support for Trump in these states. This level of support for a Republican among black voters is unusual in recent presidential politics. We kindly request you to disseminate this news and provide your insights in the comments section.
