Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rebuffs Donald Trump, says he can't 'manage' war with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that former President Donald Trump is welcome to visit Ukraine as it battles against Russia's invasion. Zelenskyy made this statement during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."

He disagreed with Trump's repeated claims that he could resolve the Ukraine war in just "24 hours." In response, Zelenskyy said that all he needs is "24 minutes" to explain to Trump that he can't handle this war.

Zelenskyy extended the invitation to Trump, saying that if he visits, he will need just 24 minutes to make it clear that ending the war in such a short time isn't feasible.

There is growing doubt among some Republicans about continuing U.S. assistance to Ukraine. It's uncertain how Trump would deal with the war if he were to return to the White House for a second term.

Trump's statements about quickly ending the war received approval from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who expressed happiness about it in September. This raised concerns among Ukraine's supporters that Trump might be open to giving up Ukrainian land to Russia.

Zelenskyy cautioned Trump against handing over any Ukrainian territory to Russia, stating that it would be a terrible decision. He mentioned that if Trump is not willing to give up their independence and territory, he won't be able to handle the situation.

Zelenskyy also mentioned that he's not sure about Trump's stance on supporting the war effort and highlighted that the opinions of regular Americans are crucial because U.S. tax dollars provide aid to Ukraine.
