2024 US presidential election: Who are the candidates?

There are seven Republicans competing to be their party's choice for the 2024 presidential election. President Joe Biden is expected to be the Democratic Party's nominee. Some third-party candidates have also joined the race.

Republican Party Candidates

1. Donald Trump (77)

He's facing indictments in several criminal cases, making him popular among Republicans. Trump claims it's a politically motivated attack. He's leading the race with 51% support among Republicans.

2. Ron DeSantis (45):

4. Vivek Ramaswamy (38)

 A former biotech investor known for provocative statements. He supports Trump and aims to pressure firms on certain initiatives but has limited support.

6. Asa Hutchinson (72)

 Former Arkansas governor calling for Trump to step aside. He has limited name recognition and received 0% support among Republicans.

7. Doug Burgum (67)

 North Dakota's governor for a second term, focusing on low taxes and fewer regulations. He's one of the least-known candidates, receiving 0% support.

Democratic Party Candidate:
